Tell Your Story > Known Alias “SLEVIN”
Not suprised he's running from his name, given his horrible reputation. As a tenant, I'd watch myself. He has been known to borrow money and future monthly rental payments, promising never to increase the rent, but of course does. I'm sure you have resolved yourself to the fact that he will not return your security deposit. If I were you, I'd monitor Auction.com and Foreclosure.com to make sure your place isn't being foreclosed on.

He has yet to respond to my request for a returned deposit. His home still has a for rent sign on it. And anyone thinking to rent it...the pipes are corroded and these to be snakes every 3 months which he refused/ ignored to fix or pay for. Yet, one day past due rent without a grace period he was posting an 3 day pay or quit by day 4. I was never more that 4 days late, and constantly fixing the repairs around the home. Broken gas line on fire place- I did not repair, I called gas co and they put a plug on it so you can’t use it. Lining around the water heater and air conditioning is faulty so particles come through when running, per gas co., bad to breathe in, and because the front bathroom has a leak in the shower pipe which floods the bathroom and front closet mold has grown. I only ran the shower a few times before I realized what was going on and requested it to be fixed, never happened. I stopped using the front bathroom shower, but when I moved as I cleared out my closet I found black mold had developed inside the closet that was linked to that bathroom. I hate to have to report this, but I’d hate even more for an unknowing family to move in and get sick.

I think at this point you know how big of a crook and slum lord Libonao really is. Two things I would do. First, report the condition of the house to the City's housing department. You are absolutely correct in looking out for the next person or family moving into this hell hole. This is typical of Libonao. He doesn't work and he can't borrow money anymore because everyone now knows he doesn't pay his debts back. He offers great interest rates, but is nowhere to be found after making a few monthly payments. So, he leaves his tenants to fend for themselves and make repairs themselves. When tenants leave, he takes all or most of their security deposits. Don't let him get away with it. It's easy to take him to Small Claims Court. For less than $100 a court date is set and the sheriff serves him. In Small Claims Court, tenants have the edge over landlords. Just have your facts straight and copies of your receipts.

Looks like Libonoa is making an art form out of changing his name. He went from Slevin to Slevin RLent to his most recent one, Mon RLent. If you have to deal with him, ask for his I.D. For our part, we are attempting to post the most recent photos we have of him. If you have some, please email them to us at jacob@romanlibonao.com. Obviously, he doesn’t believe in posting photos to social media accounts!

He’s been going by the name “Slevin.” Never uses a last name.
